About

Built inside a working practice.

Chartwright is dental practice software built by a practicing dentist in Texas. It has three parts: Chartwright Cloud, a shared library of verified insurance plans; Chartwright OS, an on-server system that routes the visit from front desk to billing; and Chartwright Vitals, practice analytics certified against the practice's own books.

Chartwright is made by a practicing dentist and a small team, inside a multi-location dental group in DFW, Texas. Every screen, every workflow, and every wording choice has been argued about at a real front desk before it shipped.

Founder, practicing dentist & multi-location group owner
Founder story

A dentist who kept writing off the same mistakes.

The founder is a general dentist who owns and operates a multi-location group in Texas. After years of watching the same write-offs come back on the same plans, month after month, from front desks staffed by capable people using software that made honest estimates almost impossible, he wrote what became Chartwright — first for his own group, then for anyone else who wanted it. Why 'Chartwright'.

A wright is an old English word for a craftsman — a shipwright, a wheelwright, a millwright. The word predates the industrial revolution and belongs to a trade where the work had to be true, because the boat had to float, the wheel had to turn, the mill had to grind. A chart, too, has to be true — or the estimate at the counter is a lie, and the patient is the one who pays for it. Chartwright is the trade of making the chart true.

Principles

Four things we won't compromise on.

  • Verify once.

A plan is a fact about a plan, not a fact about a patient. Verified once, used by everyone.

  • Honest estimates only.

The number at the counter is the number the payer will honor — or the office knows before the patient signs.

  • Your data is yours.

Open export at any time, in an open format. If you leave, you take everything with you.

  • Built by people who answer a real front-desk phone.

Every feature has been demanded, refused, argued about, and put into production inside a working office.
